A GOAL WITHOUT A PLAN IS ONLY A WISH . . .
Residents of Wadsworth, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! Letter to the Editor, The Post Newspapers, March 29, 2013
To the citizens and the businesses of our great city: Thank you for all your support during my 30 years of service to our community. From May of 1982 until my retirement in December 2012, I had the privilege and honor to serve you as a volunteer firefighter, chief fire inspector, assistant fire chief and also your fire chief. I met some of the best people fulfilling my duties of service to the community.
If not for the support of the community during my tenure, we could not have provided the level of service this community has come to expect from the Wadsworth Fire and EMS departments.
I worked with most of the businesses in Wadsworth as the chief fire inspector at some time during my career; the business people are great and really believe in providing a high degree of safety to the persons employed and to our citizens who work and visit their shops and facilities. I am very honored to have been given this opportunity to work with so many outstanding business people.
I would be remiss not mentioning the people that made me capable of providing the level of service the citizens and businesses deserve. The members of our own Wadsworth Fire and EMS departments, including the newest probationary members,
the emergency medical technicians, firefighters and fire officers all love this community and have their jobs at heart when responding to the needs of our
And last but not least, I feel extremely confident in turning the reins of Wadsworth Fire and EMS over to the newly appointed chief, Chief Carl Rommel. I have worked beside Chief Rommel his whole career in Wadsworth. I have the utmost respect for his ability to continue with the dreams and visions I had for the department. It is comforting to know he will continue to carry the torch, providing for the needs of the citizens, the business community and the
members of the department.
I will enjoy my retirement but hope to stay in touch with the community serving in a different capacity. A resident of this great city for almost 35 years, I honestly feel it is the best place to live in northeast Ohio. Thank you again for all your support.
